The Shining Star of Brian McKnight

Brian McKnight grew up in a family where music came naturally. He used to be a member of the church choir along with his family. Not content with his gospel skills. Mcknight also explorer other genres of music. In the early teens, he exercised his talent by forming a band and began performing his originals at local venues. By the age of 18, after sending out numerous demos to various record companies. Mcknight family secure a publishing deal with Mercury Records and the rest is history.

In additional to being a singer, Mcknight is a songwriter, a multi-talented musician, an arranger, and a producer. In many ways, Brian Mcknight has an advantage: his trademark falsetto has only become stronger and like wine, refined over time. As an additional credit, Brian’s personal honesty has helped him stay connected to his audience. In 12 fantastic years McKnight has recorded with Willie Nelson, Nelly, Vanessa Williams, Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, Kenny G and many more artist and musicians. The year of 2005 is a brand new start for this artist who has sold more than 16 million albums worlwide. McKnight has been busy with his hobbies since last year’s album U-Turn. Music has always been the number one priority for Brian. Refusing to be identified with, one genre he continued to developed his music and cross over the scene. That’s why 33-year old name his latest album Gemini. “Thought I don’t take the zodiak thing too seriously, I know there is something to the fact that I’m a Gemini,� says McKnight. Like a true Gemini, he has many passions: scuba diving, basketball, riding motorcycles, and top shelf art. “I love the idea of doing something new and exciting,� he says. His versatility and vast knowledge results in the brilliance of Gemini which he wrote and produced as each of his album since his 1992 platinum debut.

The album fisrt single “What we do here� is a perfect example of the good time he had making this album. McKnight also has a classic love song for the ladies. “Every Time You Go Away,�On “She,� a love letter to a woman, McKnight is joined by Brooklyn rapper Talib Kwell. In this album he colaborate with New Orleans’ rappers JUVENILE and SKIP and new jack singer Akon on the upbeat “What You Gonna Do� While “Grown Man Business� and “Here With You� on the other hand balance the album, creating a blend of hot to sweet materials. And in “Stay� there’s a hint of the jazz album McKnigt plans to do next.

“I always try and make a record that you can listen to all the way through,� he concludes.
