[Sharp] developes a 2,6 inches biometric screen VGA

Sharp has presented the latest new prototype VGA creen for mobiles which has the characteristic to be sensitive, allowing to recognize the fingerprints of its owner. Conceived in Europe and presented at the USA, this screen have a resolution 640 X 480 VGA for definition of 300ppi. With a 30 Hz sensitive sensor, the company indicates being the first to have conceived with a LCD screen at the same time tactile and allowing to use biometric systems on a mobile.
If other manufacturers of mobiles already for some time try to produce similar screens, it appears however that the Sharp characteristic is to have several modules, will cultivable or not. There will remain possible for a manufacturer OEM to use this VGA Screen only for its tactile functions and not for its biometric functions. Remain to know how the passage will do without the prototype versions of this screen to commercial versions will integrated in new products. Also, the other company integrate from now on a biometric module, but i don’t know integrated or not in their last mobile products like HP or Toshiba.
