LaCie 500GB External Rugged Hard Drive
LaCie has rolled out its 500GB External Rugged Hard Drive featuring a scratch-resistant aluminum shell and shock-resistant rubber bumper at a price of $400. The device is designed by Neil Poulton and you can choose the available USB 2.0 connection model or bus-powered version that supports both USB 2.0, FireWire 400 and FireWire 800 and pre-loaded with a utility backup software.
Update: The 160GB version are available at Amazon for $117.
