Garmin Intros nuvi 500 and 550 series GPS Navigation
Garmin has just unveils its nuvi 500 series ruggedized and waterproof GPS navigation which can be use for driving, cycling, walking and boating. These units features a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, ability to add MSN Direct or FM/TMC traffic, Li-Ion battery for up to 8 hours of operate, a micro-SD card slot, and a dedicated geocaching mode, with full-blown paperless geocaching support which already found on the Colorado and Oregon series. The nuvi 500 comes with pre-loaded City Navigator and topo maps of the 48 contiguous United States, including Hawaii and Puerto Rico. The 550 offers highway coverage of the entire U.S. and Canada but drops the topo maps. Just to remain you, the 500 and 550 on sale in quarter-three of 2008 for $499.99, while those across the pond will see the nüvi 550 land this September for £299.
